“Every writer has an inspiration. I found mine.” (Richard Castle)
While watching a trailer of one of the episodes of the series “Castle”, I heard Richard Castle make the above statement to Beckett, and it got me thinking – “what is my inspiration?”
It took me a few days to ponder on and I believe I have come up with the answer. I don’t believe I have just one inspiration because in my case, I was inspired by my personal struggle with a disease known as Myasthenia Gravis (MG). In addition to that, my family was also an inspiration.
At the onset of my struggle with MG, I felt sorry for myself and I thought my life was over; little did I know that this was going to be my stepping stone to greatness, my inspiration to achieving my God-given purpose. The essence of sharing this tit-bit is to let you know that the challenge you may be facing could turn out to be an inspiration for you to achieve something great.

I had always known I was meant to write a book but I didn’t know what the content should be. Eventually, sometime in 2014, I discovered the content of the book but I was still scared to make it a reality. This was how and when my family became my inspiration; they gave me the push and support I needed to make it a reality. Each of them made a lasting impact on me during this phase of my life, without which I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Who or what inspires you? What gives you the motivation to achieve your purpose in life? Are you struggling with something that makes you feel like your life is about to end? Pause! Take a breather, that struggle may be your inspiration.
Learn to look for the silver lining in the midst of the dark cloud; I learnt to do the same, and I have no regrets.
