A few weeks ago, while chatting with a couple of friends, one of them said, “hard work doesn’t pay” and I was stunned. Another friend then went further to support this statement by saying that some people inherit wealth that they do not work for. I think that even with this group of people, if they don’t work hard at making good investments, they will lose all the wealth they fell into.
I grew up in a comfortable home and I never really lacked anything; however, my parents taught my siblings and me the importance of working hard, and I have always lived by that principle. Everything I have now, I have worked for, and luckily or by grace, it has paid off. I believe that anyone who is focused and hardworking will be compensated eventually. You just have to keep at it.
It’s also possible that sometimes someone might be hardworking in the wrong field or at the wrong thing. In light of this, I believe that you should find the right thing for you, work hard at it and never give up.
What do you think? Do you really believe that hard work doesn’t pay? Share your thoughts. We would like to hear from you.
