Exercising is demanding and requires a lot of discipline. This is why I believe we look for shortcuts. Having to exercise regularly can also be time consuming.
When I started my weight loss journey, it was quite difficult for me to find my rhythm. I could not seem to find the time; it seemed like there were more important things I should have been doing with my time.
I finally discovered the secret to exercising: consistency, not intensity! It is better to start with an exercise regimen that can be maintained. For instance, a consistent 3 times a week schedule is more effective than an intense daily exercise for just 2 weeks followed by discontinuation. When you do this, you regain the weight. I have personally experienced this, so I no longer joke with my routine.
Let’s get to exercising. Let’s adopt self-discipline. Let’s be consistent with our own endurable level of intensity.
