All about Livingfreetolive and the Author (Dr) Kemi
Living free to live is a non-profit organization, established in 2016, for the purpose of creating awareness about Myasthenia Gravis, and giving hope & support to people living with it. We are focused on improving the quality of life of those living with this disease.
Having been diagnosed of a medical condition with no known cure, I spiraled into self-pity and depression. I doubted myself and I questioned God. I completely lost what little self-confidence I had left after apparently living with this condition my whole life without knowing what exactly was wrong with me. This condition is called Myasthenia Gravis (MG), and it causes all the muscles in your body to become weak.
Two years after my diagnosis and after a lot of reading about this rare disease, I was feeling sorry for myself because I was having yet another relapse, when I got an epiphany. It dawned on me that I could do something positive with my life and my situation. My eyes were suddenly open to the blessings in the midst of a tough time; I realized my life could be an inspiration to other people in a similar situation so I decided to share my story. This was when I got the push to make my book “Living with Myasthenia Gravis” a reality; and with a passion for motivating others, I got right to work. It was at this point that “Living free to live” was birthed, because through my ordeal, I found my purpose in life and the freedom to live again.
Slogan: Stay hopeful . . . find your purpose!
Mission: Improving the quality of life of those living with Myasthenia Gravis by giving them hope and support
Vision: Finding the freedom to live again in spite of Myasthenia Gravis
PS: These will be done through interactive support systems such as WhatsApp, Facebook, as well as face to face interaction.
